Teeth Whitening - HELP NEEDED

Hey everyone.

So I really need some help. I am terrified of the dentist but have decided that I HAVE to get my teeth done whitened.

They are not disgustingly yellow or anything like that it's just I really notice in pictures especially when wearing ANY coloured lippy. I want to be able to wear red lip stick and just have a beaming smile.... know what I mean?

So here is my plea for help from anyone who has used home kits, to buying off ebay to actually going somewhere to get it done. Please can you link me blog posts, pictures or information I would really appreciate it =)

This is me now.... just so you guys can see =)

  1. Natalie just saw your post, I know whitening can leave your teeth quite sensitive. My mum has tried pretty much every whitening product out there (including professionally having them done) and she really rates the crest whitening strips. Not sure if they are here in the UK but drugstore.com sells them and ships them (thats where she got them from...)

  3. Just about to recommend the Crest Whitening strips and seen the above comment. I have the same dentist fear, only prob they aren't available in the UK but you can easily pick them up on ebay or another site. I bought them early this year in Florida (Advanced seal 20 strips) for around $50 and everyone now comments how white my teeth are. I have never had mine done professionally so I can't compare it to that but I can honestly say they whitening my teeth at least 4-5 shades

  4. Crest whitening strips!! There's loads of strips in there, takes 10 mins and I got mine off amazon. Every single person noticed my teeth were whiter. Be careful of saliva overload though!

  5. Whitening done by anyone other than a proper dentist can seriously damage your teeth!

Whitening toothpastes etc don't work so please don't waste money on them - they're just for removing staining by coffee/red wine etc. Not for actual whitening - they won't change the shade of your teeth.

I had mine done at my dentists and it cost £300 (but that's what you have to pay if you want it done properly I guess!) with bleach trays at 3%. I used these for a few hours every other night over about 3 months so it was gradual but safe. Laser whitening is more harmful as it whitening done with higher percentage bleach (e.g. 12%).

  10. I have the cheapest and most effective teeth whitening solution.. My mum showed me lol.. Basically brush your teeth with your preferred toothpaste, then take bicarbonate soda (which is a pound or something from tescos) brush your teeth again, Just dip your toothbrush into the soda and then rinse with mouthwash.. Do it twice a day for the next 2 weeks and you will get a noticeable change.. It really does work.. a lot lot cheaper haha xx

  11. This: http://www.drugstore.com/rembrandt-2-hour-whitening-kit/qxp84592?catid=183816&fromsrch=rembrandt

Is the best teeth whitening system I have ever used. I LOVE it. It takes about two hours, but it is absolutely worth it in my opinion. It's cheap, easy, quick, and really works. I did experience a little bit of sensitivity, but it only lasted about 24 hours and was completely gone after that.
